Position Purpose: To provide education to the community on the issues of sexual assault and domestic violence
Accountability: This position reports directly to the Client Services Director
Essential Responsibilities:

1) Develop, implement, and monitor domestic violence/sexual assault education and prevention programs for schools and general community.
2) Coordinates and schedules speaking engagements in the community on sexual assault and domestic violence.
a. Provide presentations in schools and other community organizations
b. Develop and implement public awareness activities on sexual assault
c. Utilize staff and train volunteers to provide presentations
d. Maintain necessary files, records, and statistics on prevention programs
3) Demonstrate effective and efficient DV/SA education programs including but not limited to outcomes, audience satisfaction, and utilization rate. Monitor billing system for speeches.
4) Coordinate general agency presentations and speeches such as the United Way Campaign rallies.
5) Keep current on research and continually develop and update program curriculum
6) Assures strong program collaboration and cooperation with other agencies and entities to improve the quality of YWCA programming for clients and to advance the YWCA mission.
7) Helps coordinate a marketing plan for education program. Assists program staff with public speaking and marketing opportunities as needed.
8) Monitor budget for Education department. Assist in developing yearly budget for education department.
9) Represent Agency on community task forces and committees as assigned.
10) Member of Leadership Team. Active participation in agency leadership.
11) Handle walk in clients and crisis calls as available.
12) Provide backup to Volunteer Coordinator’s phone and hotline coverage.
13) Other job related tasks as appropriate
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
List specific knowledge needed, specific skills needed, and specific abilities.
1) Knowledge of sexual assault and domestic violence issues, as well as available community resources
2) Knowledge of problems surrounding problems women face and racism preferred.
3) Ability to develop, implement, and monitor programs successfully.
4) Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
5) Flexible schedule required to accommodate some evening and weekend hours for scheduled presentations.
6) Good organization, presentation, and computer skills
7) Must provide own transportation to and from community meetings.
Education and Experience (note preferred or required)
Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field required
