Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Program Manager, provides clinical counseling (mental health, learning disabilities, domestic abuse/violence, alcohol and drug abuse, child behavior problems, etc.) to clients in specific counties that meet the requirements under the Families First contract to remove the obstacles that will allow the client to maintain social economic independence. The incumbent provides related activities such as 1) making full use of agency and/or outside resources, and 2) performing basic administrative and educational tasks.
Essential Job Duties
1. To adhere to all agency and program policies and procedures and work within the context of the agency team values – compassion and respect, excellence and teamwork.
2. Conducts assessments and subsequent referral of clients, if needed.
3. Provides individual and group counseling services to clients including handling a caseload in accordance with agency standards.
4. To perform assignments on intake, if so designated.
5. To provide case management, advocacy, and liaison services for clients or client groups served.
6. Completes all required documentation in a timely, accurate manner to comply with all certification standards and funding sources’ requirements.
7. To perform basic administrative tasks related to caseload as assigned.
8. To participate in group sessions including family life education as assigned.
9. To participate in studies as assigned.
10. To assure confidentiality of information related to clients, personnel and other information of confidential nature.
- To assist in marketing and public relations activities of the agency, and to assist with development and implementation of fundraising activities for programs.
12. Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness of diversity issues with all clients and in all communications.
13. Balance a client focused service culture within the agency financial budget constraints.
14. Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled and participate on committees as assigned.
15. Collaborates with community organizations to enhance all Families First program offerings.
16. Maintains knowledge of all program curricula.
17. Carries out other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in social work or counseling or related field with one year of post master experience in social work or related field.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of standard documentation requirements for clinical counseling.

Key Performance Measures
- Percentage of clients who follow compliance with FSC.
- Accuracy, quality and timeliness of documentation submitted to the supervisor by the 5th of the following month.
- Prompt responsive screening practices and assessment protocols.
- Ability to identify coping or problem solving strategies based on identified strengths by the client.
- Ability to fulfill responsibilities as outlined by the supervisor.
- Client satisfaction surveys with an analysis of the number of affirmative answers and successful outcomes reported.
- Outreach to the community measured by number of clients utilizing services.
- Knowledge of community resources and ability to access them.
